The Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC includes a number of amendments of and supplements to the "old" version. It will be incorporated into national regulations by 29 June 2008, and will be applied as mandatory as of 29 December 2009.
Under the applicable version of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, a translation of operating instructions produced (or commissioned) by a manufacturer will bear the phrase "Original instructions". In this way, the manufacturer "authorises" the corresponding document. The manufacturer can thus have "original instructions" for every language required.
If someone other than the manufacturer orders the translation (wholesalers, middlemen etc.) and it is not "authorised" by the manufacturer, the phrase "Translation of the original instructions" must be used.
In order to facilitate your use of your existing operating instructions, we provide the terms "Original instructions" and "Translation of the original instructions" in various languages. The translations given correspond to the terms used in the Machinery Directives, as published in the respective language (http://euro-lex.europa.eu).
